Essential Skills

Tired of burning your chicken? Or working hard at making a delicious dinner, only to serve it and find out it’s still raw?

In my Essential Skills class, I’ll cover the basic skills you need to make a simple but delicious dinner, including:

  • Breading
  • Browning/Searing
  • Saute basics
  • Dicing an onion
  • Folding
  • Making pan sauce
  • Making a vinaigrette

Ingredients for the standard course will be provided. Materials (knives, cutting boards) can be provided or we can use your own.

Classes start at $60 per person, up to four people for a 2 – 3 hour course.  Classes are offered in your home in San Francisco and San Mateo counties.

Knife Skills

Want to learn to cut like a pro, or at least cut safely and evenly without cutting yourself?  Then this is the class for you!

In Knife Skills, we will cover:

  • Knife safety
  • Knife handling
  • Knife and cutting board sanitation
  • Cutting techniques:  dice, julienne, mince, chop, chiffonade and concasse
  • Knife care:  sharpening and honing / steeling your knifes
